Babaylan EU is holding its Bi-Annual Conference and General Assembly in Athens, Greece on November 5-6.
The conference has been set to coincide and made as close as possible to the GFMD (Global Forum on Migration and Development) which will be held also in Athens from November 3-6, thus making it possible for Babaylan to attend the NGO part of GFMD, under the PGA (Peoples Global Action) agenda, where Babaylan has been given an opportunity to table an issue important to Filipina migrants in Europe –the issue of Au Pairs who are deployed across Europe in increasing numbers, especially in the Nordic countries. The presence of more Babaylan attendees in Athens forum will show our capabilities, make our voices heard and contribute with significance to the migration and development debate.
Diwata (Babaylan’s Greek platform) is this year’s Babaylan host country and conference organizer.
